Mobile Number Portability (MNP)

Finally, India will see nation wide introduction of Mobile Number Portability (MNP) — which allows a mobile phone users to change his service provider while retaining his existing mobile number from tomorrow i.e. 20th January 2011.

India’s telecom watchdog Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), today issued official notification for the implementation of the Pan India Mobile Number Portability (MNP) which would come into force all over the country from January 20. However MNP was launched in Haryana Telecom circle on 25th November 2010.

In a bid to encash the up-coming pan India Mobile Number Portability launch, all the leading mobile service operators already kicked off their MNP Campaign over Electronic & Print media as well as social networking sites like twitter and facebook. Vodaofone and Idea Cellular has also come up with a Toll Free MNP Helpline with pan-India number.

To avail the MNP, Customer will have to send an SMS “PORT” followed by Mobile Number to short code 1900. Based on this subscriber will get a unique porting code as SMS from the existing service provider.The customer can then make an application in the prescribed form mentioning the code to the selected new service provider for porting of number.

How to create Autorun.inf file for CDs and DVDs.

Contrary to what you may have heard from the RIAA, burning a CD-R or CD-RW is not an activity restricted only to music pirates. In many business situations, the burned CD is the best way to distribute information to a target audience. For communications involving PowerPoint presentations, HTML, PDF forms, Flash animations, or a number of other applications, the portable and durable CD has become a common delivery method.
The compact disk drive auto play feature, common to most operating systems, is a good way to simplify user experience. Auto play is controlled by a simple text-only file called autorun.inf. While there are dozens of software utilities available that will help you create the file, all you really need is a text editor and some basic knowledge.
This How do I… is based on Microsoft Windows, but other operating systems will read the autorun.inf file in a similar fashion.

Solution One : Create autorun.inf

The basic configuration of the autorun.inf states the program to run when the CD is inserted in the drive and the icon to display when the disk is viewed by Windows Explorer or other directory listing software. The text-only file, which resides in the root directory of the CD, should follow this pattern:
[autorun]
open=myprogram.exe
icon=myicon.ico

The icon file should also reside in the root directory of the CD.
Variations

Often the program you want to run will not be located in the root directory of the CD. If that is the case you must include the path:
[autorun]
open=folder1\folder1A\myfile.exe
icon=myicon.ico
Sometimes you may need to pass an argument to the program to be auto played:
[autorun]
open=myprogram.exe /argument
icon=myicon.ico
Not a program

Sending customers, salespeople, investors, and employees presentations, PDF files, and HTML documents requires a slight variation to the basic autorun.inf file and the addition of a DOS batch file to the CD root directory. The autorun.inf file opens a batch file, which then opens the file using the default program designated for that file type. For example:
[autorun]
open=autorun.bat index.htm
icon=myicon.ico
And the autorun.bat file reads:
echo off
@start %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7 %8 %9
@exit
There is a variation on this idea that takes advantage of the ShellExecute command:
[autorun]
ShellExecute=index.htm
icon=training.ico
Using the autorun.inf file to auto play your burned CDs will prevent another headache for your users and increase the likelihood of reaching your target audience. And because it is a simple text file, it can be created with a text editor and your normal disk-burning software.

Solution Two : Create autorun.inf

While creating your autorun.inf file according to Solution One will work for most of your users, it will fail for a small percentage who have issues with the autorun function in their particular installation of Windows. The batch file in the first solution makes no allowances for errors and will merely fail when an error is encountered.
This is where a shell utility can save the day, because these third-party applications contain routines for handling common errors and will complete the autorun process even if an error is encountered. For this example, we’ll use autorun.exe, which can be downloaded from Tarma Software Research. Tarma has made autorun.exe freely available for both personal and commercial use, and there are no requirements for copyright notices, etc.
To use autorun.exe, you make a simple modification to the autorun.inf file by replacing autorun.bat with the .exe file. The basic autorun.inf under this scenario would look like this:
[autorun]
open=autorun.exe index.htm
icon=myicon.ico
The only other requirement is that a copy of the 8KB autorun.exe file be included in the root directory of each burned CD. This application also contains several options and supports an extended autorun.inf structure that provides more flexibility in how you design your CD package.

How To Manually Remove a Virus from Your Computer

if you are tired of sitting and waiting for your anti-virus software to remove the new virus infection, the steps below are for you. No programming skills are required! Just a basic knowledge of command prompt syntax will do...for this demo, the virus is on the portable USB drive (e:\virus) named virus.vbs

1. Create a back-up. Safety comes above all else. Save your files on removable storage or on another partition aside from the Windows drive.

2. Run the Windows command prompt. You can run the Windows command prompt by either clicking on the Start Menu\All programs\Accessories\Command Prompt or by pressing Windows + R on the keyboard and typing "CMD."

3. Look for the directory or folder where the virus resides. Go to the folder where the virus is hiding. Its usually resides on the Windows temporary folder or on the Windows system folder. Check partitions and drives for viruses, e.g. type "cd e:\virus"

4. Show the hidden virus and remove its attributes. It will be easier if you can see the virus. Remove the virus attributes, which are read only, archive, system file, and hidden file. e.g. type "attrib -r -a -s -h virus.vbs"

5. Delete the virus. Say goodbye to the virus by deleting it, e.g. type "del virus.vbs"

How To Resize And Move Partition Without Losing Data In Windows

How To Resize And Move Partition Without Losing Data In Windows

If you don’t have any space to make backup on your hard disk, you can backup online for free using Mozy, they provide 2Gb of free space which is enough for an ordinary user.

Partition Manager(Home Edition) is a free utility for Windows that lets you create, delete, format, resize, and move partition instantly. It works on 32-bit version of Windows only, 64-bit is not supported in free version. It supports up to 1.5TB of Hard Disk.

Resizing/Moving partition using this tool is a piece of cake, just right-click the drive and select Resize/Move from the list of options. If you have multiple hard disks, they will be labeled as Disk1, Disk2, and so on.

Now on the disk map you will see the total size of the partition, the used space(highlighted in yellow) and the free space(highlighted in grey). You can resize your partition easily by dragging the partition handler on the left and right side of the disk map.

Once you have resized your partition, the space you have freed will be made unallocated. Now you can use this unallocated space to create a new partition or add it with another drive. To create a new partition, simply right-click the unallocated space and select Create.

Now give this new partition a name, select the file system, choose drive letter, and let the Cluster size remain as default(if you are an average user).

When all settings are done, click OK and your new drive will be ready to use. Enjoy!

UBNLOCK-----------------

if you want to avoid being logged off again when you see the scrap, you can block flash in your browser.
For firefox, download the following plugin :
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/433
In opera, you can disable the flash plugin.

To delete the scrap with the logout script, first open your scrapbook(where the logout script is there), open any page(except the scrapbook) in a new window(don't close your scrapbook window).

When you open the new page of orkut, it'll ask you to log in. Enter your details and login to orkut. After login, go to your scrapbook page(which you had kept open), and delete the scrap which was causing the logout to occur
